Kelham Country house wedding photographer – Jodie & Emma
Jodie and Emma’s wedding was such a fun wedding! I loved being their Country house wedding photographer.
Jodie and Emma got married this March at the beautiful Kelham country manor, which is a stunning country house in Newark-on-Trent. They had their ceremony at the same venue as the reception, which was the perfect setting. They chose Kelham country manor, because Jodie originally comes from the area, even though both Jodie & Emma live in Suffolk, it made it a lot easier for guests to get to the venue. It was a very romantic & emotional wedding, which really fitted in with my style, as I love to shoot for emotion. I love shooting weddings at country manor’s, because the surroundings are normally set within lush acres of green and the building is so lovely. The venue itself had a very warm feeling to it. As it was a cold March day the open fireplace was roaring, and the staff were ace! Nothing was too much trouble. The timetable was relaxed, which allowed me to be flexible with my photography.
Jodie got ready in the downstairs room at Kelham with all of her ladies, including mum, who was super helpful, and the atmosphere was so energetic. Plenty of bubbly was flowing, whilst they all got their glam on. They then walked the short distance to the ceremony. Emma got ready in the same room, just before I arrived, so the ladies were doing their best to avoid each other. Emma then Got dressed in her suit in the bridal suite and then just a little walk to get to the ceremony.
The wedding itself was an intimate affair in the venue grounds at the reception hall at the rear of the building. During the ceremony you could feel the emotion, and to my surprise, it was Emma who struggled to hold back. It was a real tear-jerker. The ceremony was all you would want it to be, even though it was over in a heartbeat, it was filled with moments to reflect on. Both Jodie and Emma were super fun!
The reception was in the same room and they had a singing waiter to entertain guests. He was so funny, and really got all the guests going. Alex had them dancing around the hall doing all sorts lol.
I would really recommend a singing waiter, as it really adds to the fun factor, and judging by the guests reactions, they all loved it!
The really cool thing was that the guests had no idea, and he was serving them through their main course! It was brilliant fun!
The evening entertainment was supplied by the now obligatory photobooth (always ideal once the guests get a little tipsy), and of course the DJ.
The most fun part of the day was the afternoon reception, because of the singing waiter. I think he really set the tone for the rest of the day, but the guests all played their part too.
Thank you Jodie & Emma for having me as your Kelham house country manor hotel wedding photographer – I wish you both the very best and hope you enjoyed your wedding photography.
Jodie and Emma’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s their gorgeous wedding!
